Company Profile
Established in 1978 by Jim P. Johnson, FAA licensed commercial pilot in both helicopters and airplanes. Jim takes great pride in the safety and services Interstate Helicopters provide their customers.
Interstate Helicopters provides rotorcraft services to various television networks, in addition to local T.V. stations. They are involved with rental and pilot services to all three national networks, located within the Oklahoma City area and have flown on the radar projects with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Current contracts include severe weather helicopter service for KOCO-TV (ABC), Channel 5, in Oklahoma City and news helicopter service for KTUL-TV (ABC), Channel 8, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Past contracts have included KFOR-TV (NBC), KOAT-TV (ABC) in Albuquerque, supplying a news helicopter to KXAS-TV (NBC) in Dallas-Ft. Worth and working with KWTV-TV (CBS) in Oklahoma City. Interstate Helicopters has flown in several movies, attaching various camera mounts for film, video, and still photo's for commercial's and various types of businesses.
